size knife is from my personal collection, and is now available for your bidding pleasure.
The early knives of Solingen Germany were known world wide for their quality steel,  fine craftsmanship, and attention given to details. This collectible
1950's era
Hunting / Skinning
knife is no exception.
Remember, “Back in their day” these older knives were purchased to be used and n
ot
collected, making a knife like this one difficult to find in good condition.

HANDLE
:
This original vintage
BOWIE
KNIFE
feels
heavy,
well balanced
and
solid,
when held in your hand. The
large Split-tang handle is made from real antler stag/bone
with
rich natural color tones
and some signs of natural aging.
These
real
antler/stag handle scales
are
thick
with
No looseness
and are in
Exceptionally Good Condition
for their 1950's age.
The beautiful
G
narly bone handle slabs
are securely fastened
with
3 shiny Brass pins
.  There is also a
3  1/4" long curved Brass hand guard
that has some nice patina to it.

:
The 1950's vintage blade is made from
world famous "Solingen Germany steel"
and is an impressive size at approx.
8" inches long.
There is a factory
3  5/8" long Swedge
or extra long
"false top edge"
that can be sharpened, if desired.
Note:  This bright German Steel blade is approx.
1/4" thick
on the widest part of the spine, and the
blade is almost 1  1/2" inch at it's widest area
.
The decades old
clip-point blade
has signs of:  carbon aging pepper specks and spots, pitting, grinding and marks as shown in photos.
This is one
heavy-duty
fixed blade vintage Bowie with some nice patina and history behind it. There is also some signs of carbon aging specks on the blade spine and handle tang, which is consistent with being decades old.
The
huge 13" German Bowie
with
Genuine Stag Handle Thick Slabs
will make a great addition for your knife collection.

SHEATH
:
The
heavy-duty
vintage
leather sheath (or case) measures
13  3/4"
inches long and is in
Exceptionally Good Condition.
It has great
intact stitching
,
large belt loop,
and a
secure
working snap strap
with
Brass snap
. There are some light signs of handling or a few normal surface rubs.
The Germany
"Kissing Cranes"
leather sheath is
stamped on the front with the well known LOGO image of :
2 Kissing Cranes inside a circle
Although not original to the Solingen Germany knife, this large size
vintage leather
sheath
fits the Bowie
knife like a glove,
and offers secure and easy carrying.
