Thierry Chatelain was born in Morocco in 1952 to a French colonist family and returned to France. He studied art in Paris and later moved to Southern California where he worked at Disney and Universal Studios as an illustrator. As the became popular, Thierry experienced many art showings at galleries including the Knowles Gallery in La Jolla, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Atlantia Gallery, and the Reid Gallery. He portrays global annative and vanished cultures with animals and floral kingdoms with his brilliant command of gouache and mastery of color. Although Thierry Chatelain passed away at a young age in 2008, you can still by his images on prints, posters, postcards and T-shirts.
