The Matala Biosteps II with Waterfall is a highly specialized gravity pond filter with a cross flow design, which allows it to easily trap debris at high flow rates. Due to its unique, modular design, this filter can be easily upgraded with a UV clarifier (not included). It is able to provide filtration for ponds up to 2,700 gallons that have no fish, or 1,350 gallons for ponds with a heavy fish load.
This filter additionally includesa  6-pack of Matala Filter Media (2 blue, 2 green, and 2 gray) which both trap debris and provide surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize, which help to keep your pond's ecosystem balanced and healthy. The new "Swivel Inlet Fitting" has barb sizes of 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2". The Matala Biosteps II is an open flow gravity return style filter. The included waterfall spillway measures 11" across, and the outer tank measures 20" L x 15" W x 23" x H.
