These cartridge/clip holders replace the original snap-on orange covers that are supplied with OEM/original cartridges.

The plastic holder (containing a silicon
PAD
) clips firmly onto the base of the cartridge keeps air from drying out the cartridge sponge.

Keep cartridges in long term storage.  You can glue in the pads like I do and this will reduce the possibilities of a slight bit of leakage.  But due to the nature of the pad variances, these aren't necessarily leakproof.  A best practice is to always rinse out the clips when "reacquiring the vacuum" (a natural process that will always leave a drop of ink on your pad)
If you buy "1" you get 8 clips.  If you buy "2" you get 16 clips, etc.

Some well known sellers have these and they want a dollar EACH plus higher shipping costs to get them to you OR they are an overseas seller and the shipping costs are WAY too high.  No more.  These plastic cartridge storage clips are just what you need.  They work with your CLI-42, CLI-8, CLI-65 and BCI-6 carts to secure and seal the ink cartridge and allow "mess-free" filling and "stand-up" storage.  The storage clip includes a silicon "pad" that I like to superglue into the clip which helps keep the ink from leaking out.  The pad can be popped out for cleaning anytime.
