    Description

    CONDITION:
It is in excellent, mint condition.
    DESCRIPTION:
The watercolor picture on old paper (I am not sure of the material) depicts a Royal procession accompanied by 11 soldier guards carrying spears and one holds a banner.
The main three protagonists of the Maharaja family are riding on an elephant under an umbrella, two are on horses, and one is on a camel. The picture is set into green turfs of vegetation in the background.
At the upper end of the painting is a row of castles. Just below that are six trees in white color blossoms. It is detailed work. These types of paintings have strong and elaborate ritualistic folk tale narrative elements.
The artist placed a red color band around the picture to highlight the scene. The band is approximately 1” wide and depicts branches of palm leaves in gold color.
The three major colors in the painting are green, blue, and red.
The picture is set in a bronze color frame with typical Indian patterns.

    PERSONAL:
In 1980 I purchased this picture from a reputable art dealer in Hyderabad, India, and had it framed locally. I am not a specialist in Indian art, I purchased the painting just because I liked it.
Now I have retired and am downsizing.
