Indian Miniature Gilt Painting on Marble 7" Round 1"Border 9" Total

Description

This is a 7 inch round Indian miniature painting on a 9 inch round marble plaque. The detail is excellent and the marble background is visible in much of the painting, serving as skin, walls and floor with various transparent colors. The edge is raised and is decorated with raised flowers and encrusted "gems",which gives it the appearance of a plate or tray, but I'm sure it isn't meant to be used like that. The back is left in the unfinished marble. It does not appear to be signed.
