Thank you for your interest in my auction. I am selling the following item:
A Custom Budget Modern Black & White Bogbrew Witch, Festering Newt & Bubbling Cauldron Deck:
This is a budget Modern deck built around the Bogbrew Witch engine. For those not familiar with this engine it consists of three cards. They are Bogbrew Witch, Bubbling Cauldron and Festering Newt. The way the engine works is the Bogbrew Witch lets you search your library for 1 of 2 very specific cards and put them directly into play. The 2 cards, of course, being Bubbling Cauldron and Festering Newt. This greatly facilitates the little engine. The cauldron lets you sacrifice creatures to gain life. But if you happen to sacrifice a Festering Newt then it drains your opponents instead along with conferring life on you. The amount of life can get quite large in multiplayer games. So that is the engine core of the deck.
The rest of the deck is built to synergize with this engine and support the whole "Witchy Witch" theme of the deck. Then since you will be gaining life and sending creatures to the graveyard there are cards capitalizing on this process for your greater good. Angelic Accord gets you an angel token whenever you gain 4 life. Like when you sacrifice a newt to the cauldron. Dark Prophecy nets you a card when a creature you control dies. And the lifeloss gets offset by your lifegain cards. Ogre Slumlord fills the battlefield with rats whenever nontoken creatures die. Then the other cards support the theme. A witch has a Black Cat of course. She keeps a Jar of Eyeballs and Gurmag Swiftwings for ingredients. Merciless Eviction for flavor as eclipses seem to appear whenever big witchcraft happens in stories.
