Outstanding Western Cutlery, 48, with custom lignam vitea pommel , padauk scales

Western Cutlery, model 48, bird and trout hunting knife, customized with exotic hardwood handles.
The Western 48 blade was purchased without handles or pommel.  The wood selected for this custom piece are some of the woods used on early hunting and pocketknives form the 19th century, when all of the major cutlery companies were producing knives.  The sides are African Padauk, and the pommel is a nearly industructable Lignam Vitea hardwood with gorgeous, grain structure, and found in South America and the Caribbean. Nickel silver and black spacers compliment these exotic woods.
This knife is a. one of a kind piece,  with a mint blade.
The sheath is Western's standard oak leaf design.
This knife would make a great gift for a female outdoorsman, or younger hunter.  Western's bird and trout hunting knives are becoming extremely collectable.
