    Description

    This Western knife was purchased in a box with several other unfinished Western bird and trout hunting knives from a former Western employee.  The knife was finished with blade polish, pommel, guard and spacers, but missing the handle material.  The knife was professionally completed with the addition of genuine sambar stag handles, also purchased from Western.  The blade shows a few dark spots,  but no serious pitting or rust.  ONE OF THE LAST KNIVES TO LEAVE THE FACTORY BEFORE IT CLOSED IN 1992.
    These bird and trout hunting knives are becoming the hottest Western available,  and the small size makes it a great addition to any game bag, fishing creel, or attached to a belt loop.  They are small enough that they will not catch on the truck seat.
    The stag is gorgeous,  with deep dark brown ridges,  highlighted by light tan and yellow raised areas, making a striking handle. The stag is slightly thicker on this knife making it easy to hold, even for the larger hand.
    The sheath is Western's oak leaf design, and is in outstanding condition.  The keeper strap is plain nickel silver; perhaps a replacement for the original Western snap.
    A great knife for a female outdoorsman or younger hunter,  or as a special treat for yourself.
    DO NOT PASS UP MINT KNIVES WITH STAG HANDLES. STAG IS BECOMING EXTREMELY RARE AND EXPENSIVE TO PURCHASE.
